The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions Department of Health Services Administration (HSA) announces an opening for a full time, tenure-track faculty position for our graduate programs in Healthcare Quality and Safety, Health Informatics, Healthcare Simulation, and Health Administration. The new faculty member will also have the opportunity to teach in our doctoral programs.
We seek applications from innovative, motivated, and engaged individuals who are committed to growing our research and scholarship in healthcare quality and safety, health informatics, simulation, as well as healthcare management and leadership. The ideal candidate will have expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: quality improvement, patient safety and human factors, health informatics, data science, health care delivery science, implementation science, simulation, or other related fields. The ideal candidate will have earned a terminal degree in a relevant discipline. Candidates at the rank of Associate professor or above will demonstrate a strong portfolio of research or scholarship. Salary, rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
UAB’s Department of Health Services Administration offers two doctoral programs, and masters programs in in Healthcare Quality and Safety (CAHME certified), Health Informatics (CAHIIM accredited), Health Administration (CAHME-accredited, ranked #1 in the nation by US News and World Report), and Healthcare Simulation (one of a few in the nation). We also have a large, AUPHA-certified undergraduate program in Healthcare Management and we conduct tailored continuing education programs with the field of practice.
