The LSUS/LSUHSC-Shreveport MPH Program is a collaborative CEPH Accredited Program. The LSUSMPH Assistant Program Director is a full-time (9-month with additional summer school opportunities) faculty position at the Associate (tenure track) rank. The faculty member will have administrative duties and responsibilities on the LSUS campus under the direction of the MPH Program Director. The faculty member will also be involved with teaching, research and community service in support of the MPH Program and LSUS mission and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining liaison with faculty and staff on the LSUS and LSUHSC-S campuses.
Assisting with curriculum development and program quality assurance
Providing oversight, maintenance and development of CEPH self-study documents
Providing direction and guidance to faculty related to CEPH Competencies
Directing the Applied Practical Experience to online and face to face students
Establishing regular events for student career counselling and Interprofessional educational events
Advising and mentoring students
Teaching in the MPH Program
Conducting scholarly activities (e.g., research, grants) relevant to Public Health
Participating in service within the department, college, university and community.
Applicants must hold a DrPH, PhD, MD or equivalent doctoral degree.
Previous experience teaching in an accredited MPH Program.
Documented evidence of an active research agenda and published peer-reviewed scholarship.
Evidence of academic leadership and administrative experiences
Demonstrated experience in professional development
Experience with academic and CEPH accreditation
Experience with online education and alternative instructional design methods
Experience in utilization progressive technology
At least 5 years of higher education academic experience
Minimum of at least 2 years of leadership in higher education
Demonstrated involvement in state, national and/or international professional organizations
Evidence of support for diversity and inclusion in an academic setting.
Supervision Received: Directly from the MPH Program Director, Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, Dean of the College Provost and Chancellor.
