This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.The mission of the Nutrition and Vision Research Laboratory (LNVR) is to discover mechanisms of aging in the eye and seek nutritional and other means to delay age-related vision impairments.

What You'll Do
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator and other LNVR scientists, the technician conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which may include monitoring and feeding laboratory animals, performing assays, tissue culture, electrophoresis, and other laboratory techniques. Will also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. The technician may also be called upon to adapt new assays as well as read and interpret scientific literature.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in science with up to 1 year laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in biology, chemistry or related field, familiarity with basic laboratory techniques (pH meter, specrophotometers, balance, PCR), sterile cell culture facility, and essential standard procedures.
