The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion within the College of Education at the University of Kentucky is seeking candidates for a tenure eligible, Special Title Series, Assistant Professor position in the Sport Leadership concentration area (Ph.D., Ed.D. or equivalent), effective August 15, 2023. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application reviews will begin December 1, 2022 and continue until the position is filled. The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion (KHP), housed in the College of Education, is comprised of 28 full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs in the academic areas of exercise science, physical education, health promotion, and sport leadership. KHP serves as the academic focus for more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students who are seeking degree programs in the department. One of the primary areas of focus at the master’s level is Sport Leadership. We also offer a Graduate Certificate in Sport, Fitness, and Recreation Management.
This position is in the Special Title Series faculty category and requires the faculty member to teach 15-21 credits per year (graduate or undergraduate level) in the Sport Leadership concentration and contribute to the Graduate Certificate in Sport, Fitness, and Recreation Management. The Assistant Professor will have the opportunity to serve on graduate student thesis and exam committees.
