The Department of Population Health Sciences in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health invites applications for a faculty position in the area of genetic/genomic epidemiology with a focus on social genomics. This position is the final of three hires in Social Genomics as part of the UW-Madison's interdisciplinary Cluster Hiring Initiative. Faculty in the Social Genomics cluster, along with additional UW-Madison researchers, form the Initiative in Social Genomics, one of the largest and most innovative groups of researchers pursuing topics in social genomics in the world.

Research responsibilities: Develop and maintain a vigorous, cutting-edge, highly visible, and interdisciplinary research program that specializes in integrating genomic epidemiologic methods within the social, behavioral, and/or health sciences. Research programs may include (but are not limited to) innovative uses of polygenic scores and gene-environment/behavioral interactions involved in health and disease.

Teaching responsibilities: teach one Population Health Sciences course per academic year.

Education requirements: PhD or other doctoral level degree in Epidemiology or a related discipline.

Required qualifications: Candidates must combine genetic/genomic epidemiology and social/behavioral health in their research. Relevant areas of methodologic expertise include, but are not limited to, polygenic scores and gene-environment/behavioral interactions involved in health and disease.
