The Research Technologist Manager in the Translational Oncology and Regenerative Medicine (TORM) Laboratory at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine will have primary responsibility to provide highly specialized support to research functions, and to manage the daily operations of the TORM Laboratory. This position will report to the Laboratory Director.
Prepare reagents and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments for various projects.
Obtain and process clinical samples and assist with the development and maintenance of cell lines, patient-derived tumors, and tissue-engineered organoids.
Attend and participate in laboratory meetings by presenting data as directed.
Provide support with manuscripts and protocol development, as well as grant submissions.
Work with the Director to maintain laboratory certifications, protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory and invoice orders.
Monitor the maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure continued optimal performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Master’s degree in the biological sciences
A minimum of 2 years’ experience with in vitro and in vivo translational cancer drug development techniques, including maintenance of cell cultures, lentiviral transfections, Western blot analysis, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, hanging drop organoid development, boyden chamber assays, RT-PCR, RNA-sequencing and single cell RNA sequencing techniques, rodent/mouse tumor implantation, blood draws, animal handling, preparation for pharmacokinetic analysis, and tissue collections and necropsy
Supervisory or team lead experience
A minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience.
Experience tracking/managing laboratory inventory and ordering.
Demonstrated experienced with PRISM and statistical software
3D printing experience is strongly preferred

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate collaborative relationships.
