Human exposure to environmental pollutants and their impact on health
The Department of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an outstanding faculty member at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenure-track or tenured) rank in the broad area of human exposure to environmental pollutants and their impact on health. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Candidates for this position will hold a PhD, ScD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree with a strong background in environmental health sciences, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline. Responsibilities for this position will include developing an independent research program, teaching at the graduate level, advising masters and doctoral students, and participating in service activities.
Applicants with expertise in environmental or occupational epidemiology, children’s environmental health, air pollution, indoor air quality, exposure to heavy metals, personal or environmental exposure assessment, and community-based environmental health research are strongly encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to applicants with a record of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and experience in teaching graduate level courses in environmental health sciences. Candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the UAB academic community through their research, teaching and service are especially encouraged to apply.
