Clara Adams Ender Endowed Professorship
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical (A&T) State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Clara Adams Ender Endowed Professorship in Nursing Education Research. This distinguished professorship in nursing education and/or practice research, which informs curricula, pedagogy and nursing practice, is a prestigious designation for a faculty member who has earned prominence for scholarly and professional achievements in nursing education and/or practice research.
The Distinguished Professor will serve as researcher in nursing education and practice in the School of Nursing and Health Services (SON & HS) and will oversee curriculum, instruction and quality improvement in the nursing program.
Additional purposes of this position include: mentoring faculty, especially junior faculty, and students; facilitating collaboration between the SON & HS, College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS), University, community, professional and practice partners; establishing new degree programs (seated and on line); and, advancing the University's goals in research and scholarship.

The School of Nursing at North Carolina A&T was founded in 1953. With two additional programs added to the school: health communications and health services management, the School of Nursing has now become the School of Nursing and Health Services. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has traditional, accelerated, and RN-BSN entry options. The nursing program is a partner in the Union Square Campus, a key initiative of Opportunity Greensboro. Union Square is a 103,000 square foot state-of-the-art healthcare simulation center. Fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing, the nursing program at North Carolina A&T boasts high NCLEX pass rates and is poised for graduate education.
Earned doctorate with five years of experience in funded nursing education or practice research, which informs curricula and pedagogy. Meet the rank criteria for Associate or Full Professor.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D; record of research publications in nursing; demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives or programmatic changes; a record of exemplary teaching in nursing baccalaureate and/or graduate programs; and administrative leadership experience in a nursing education environment, especially in the area of curriculum design and evaluation. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external constituencies, mentor junior faculty and students, promote innovative and impactful education practice, and work with a culturally diverse population.
Required License or Certification
Must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain North Carolina Registered Nurse License. If the candidate is an Advanced Practice Nurse, must hold national certification.
