Instructional Faculty Positions – School of Nursing

The School of Nursing at James Madison University (JMU) invites applications for the following 10-month, full-time instructional faculty positions beginning Fall 2019:

Nursing Faculty Position – Women’s Health Nursing: Duties and responsibilities include clinical, classroom, laboratory, and other teaching assignments in the BSN program. Professional, school and university service, and scholarship are additional expectations. Qualifications: minimum of Master’s Degree in Nursing, Doctorate in nursing or related discipline preferred and three or more years of clinical nursing practice experience in Women’s Health nursing. Other requirements include RN registration and eligibility for Virginia nursing license. Tenure track position at rank of Assistant with doctorate OR rotating term clinical appointment as Lecturer or Instructor rank for faculty with MSN degree. Nursing Faculty Position – Psychiatric Mental Health: Duties and responsibilities include clinical, classroom, laboratory, and other teaching assignments in the BSN program. Professional, school and university service, and scholarship are additional expectations. Qualifications: minimum of Master’s Degree in Nursing, Doctorate in nursing or related discipline preferred and three or more years of clinical nursing practice experience in Psychiatric Mental Health nursing. Other requirements include RN registration and eligibility for Virginia nursing license. Tenure track position at rank of Assistant with doctorate OR renewable term clinical appointment as Lecturer or Instructor rank for faculty with MSN degree. Nursing Faculty Position – Doctor of Nursing Practice and Nurse Practitioner Program Faculty: Duties and responsibilities include theory, classroom, and practicum at the MSN and DNP program levels; professional, school, and university service and scholarship are additional expectations. Qualifications: Doctorate, either PhD or DNP, along with Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP or AGNP) and three or more years of clinical practice experience required. Experience in a higher education faculty role and instructing at the DNP program level strongly preferred. Other requirements include RN registration and eligibility for Virginia license. The School of Nursing offers CCNE accredited Baccalaureate, Masters, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice programs. The desired start date for each position is August 25, 2019.
