Job Summary:
The University of San Francisco (USF) is looking to fill a part-time temporary Simulation
Technician position within the School of Nursing & Education. This role is for USF's Sacramento Branch Campus.

Full Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert who is able to set up, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and in some cases repair simulation equipment including high and low fidelity mannequins and other similar equipment, hospital-type equipment used in simulation activities, and AV/IT equipment used in simulation activities.
  • Instruct and assist simulation educators/facu lty and learners in the use of technical equipment used in simulation.
  • Assist in operational activities such as staff and maintenance scheduling, and inventory/purchasing functions.
  • Familiar with the various moda lities of simulation education and has a good grasp of simulation educational principles
  • Assist in the development, setu p, and delivery, and takedown of simulation education sessions.
  • Assist in project planning, staff on boarding, and commissioning activities as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate degree in healthcare related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience as a technician in a simulation centre including experience in maintaining an equipment inventory and maintenance schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation, hospital, and IT/AV equipment and software used in a clinical education environment
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non- technical audiences
  • Demonstrated adaptability and resourcefulness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to acquire new skills and learn new procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to autonomously control the physiological parameters of a patient simulator in a realistic manner
  • Awareness of l atest simulation technological developments and products in simulation
  • Demonstrated understanding of curriculum development
  • Familiarity with Clinical Information Systems.
  • Flexibility with your schedule as this role will be part time estimated at 20 hours/week, the department is in need of someone with open availability during the week dependent on the School of Nursing's needs and programs.
