Simmons University invites applications for a renewable, one-year, full-time Assistant Professor, Non-tenure track in Exercise Science to begin in the Fall of 2020.

We seek an innovative educator and scholar with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, creative curriculum development, and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. As a University committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, we seek candidates with a demonstrated ability to work with students, staff and faculty across a broad range of social and personal identities, abilities and perspectives.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach seven courses over two semesters in the undergraduate Exercise Science Program. Courses may include but are not limited to Kinesiology and lab, Introduction to Exercise Science, Form and Function in Resistance Training, Exercise Testing and Prescription lab, and Strength and Conditioning. They may also periodically develop and teach interdisciplinary courses in the Honors and General Education (PLAN) programs. Responsibilities also include advising and mentoring students, internship coordination, online course development, and service on departmental, college and/or university committees.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate or master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or an Exercise Science-related field. Preference will be given to candidates with 3-plus years of college teaching, as well as professional experience in Kinesiology, Strength and Conditioning, or Fitness and Wellness.

Located in Boston's Longwood Medical area, Simmons University is a private, non-sectarian institution that has prepared women for leadership in the world through transformative education that links passion with purpose since 1899. Today, Simmons serves nearly 2,000 students in a women-centered undergraduate program and nearly 5,000 students in coeducational graduate programs.
