The Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan, School of Public Health invites applications for a Research Track Faculty position in the area of social epidemiology. Appointment as a Research Investigator, Assistant Research Scientist, or Research Assistant Professor will be made commensurate with experience. The new faculty member will join an active and productive research team, led by Dr. Nancy Fleischer, focused on policy and social determinants of health and health equity, with applications in tobacco control, COVID-19 recovery, and structural racism and health. They will play a lead role in directing research projects using primary data collection and/or analysis of secondary data. Successful applicants should have a Ph.D. level training and research background in epidemiology, sociology, policy, or a related field, experience in analyzing data with nested data structures that utilize complex survey designs, and excellent writing skills. The candidate must be prepared to take on a leadership role on the team, including mentoring and managing students and staff. The position offers ample opportunities for publication, interdisciplinary collaboration, grant writing, interactions with students and postdoctoral fellows, and career development.
