Augusta University College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Chair of Prelicensure Programs position. We are the state’s flagship nursing program, enrolling more than 1000 students on two campuses and at numerous academic-practice partner sites. The College of Nursing, an integral component of the University System of Georgia is part of the state’s only publicly-funded comprehensive academic health science center including schools of medicine, dentistry, and allied health sciences. The College of Nursing is adjacent to Augusta University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Georgia, Georgia Cancer Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, providing ample opportunity for clinical experiences for students and faculty. Additionally, the college has a thriving Nurse-Managed Health Center, affording additional clinical practice and teaching opportunities focused on primary care, telehealth and behavioral health. The college offers the full degree spectrum including BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs.
The College of Nursing Department Chair for Prelicensure Programs provides administrative leadership for the Department, including responsibility for the general direction of the Department in alignment with the College of Nursing mission and strategic plan. The Department Chair will be responsible for leading curricular revisions in alignment with the re-envisioned AACN Essentials. This position is part of the College of Nursing Administrative Team and reports directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The scope of this position has been revised subsequent to a College of Nursing reorganization.
