The Division of Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) in the UK College of Health Sciences Department of Clinical Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with vision, leadership skills and the ability to work with diverse colleagues and students to fill a 12 month, tenure-track faculty position as an assistant, associate or full professor. The successful candidate will support the PAS program by serving as a Site Director for the Morehead campus. Primary responsibilities include: 1) assisting the PAS Program Director with leadership, administration, and development activities specific to the Morehead campus; 2) providing pre-clinical and classroom didactic instruction in the PAS curriculum, 3) assessing clinical skill development during practicum evaluations and assessing; 4) contributing to curriculum development, assuring that competencies for PA education and specific learning objectives delineated by program expectations for entry-level practice are met, 5) maintaining professional competency appropriate for the position, and 7) serving as an advisor, role model and mentor to students at the Morehead campus.
If desired, the successful candidate may engage in practice as a licensed PA-C in a clinical setting providing direct evidenced-based patient care (hours flexible and negotiable to meet program needs).
Qualified applicants in all areas of expertise will be considered for the position, but preference will be given to those with expertise in provision of primary care medicine, especially in a rural environment.
