The Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy is seeking an outstanding candidate to join its Pharmaceutical Health Services, Outcomes, and Policy (PHSOP) program to provide leadership in research, instruction and service. The PHSOP program is an interdisciplinary program that investigates structure, processes, and outcomes of pharmaceutical and overall health care systems. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree or similar academic training in pharmaceutical outcomes research, health services research, health policy, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, social and administrative sciences, or a related field. The position is a full time, 9-month, tenure track position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor.

This position is a part of the University of Georgia’s Precision One Health hiring initiative. The Initiative seeks to understand how genetics, the environment, and lifestyle inform the most efficacious approaches to prevent and treat health conditions. The goal is to design optimal preventive or therapeutic care that provides the individual patient with the best treatment at the right time. The initiative follows a translational science paradigm using evidence-based research to support the implementation of more refined approaches to improving the health of individual patients.

The primary duties of the faculty member will be to establish an extramurally-funded research program, teach in the graduate (Ph.D.) and professional (Pharm.D.) programs, and provide leadership within the departmental to advance excellence in its research and educational programs. Priority will be given to those with a track record of funded research, quality teaching and innovations, and expertise in health disparities and health quity, precision medicine, health outcomes, large secondary data analysis (e.g., Big Data), and/or dissemination and implementation science.

The faculty member will be located in Athens, Georgia, home of the University of Georgia. Athens is ideally situated in the rolling hills of northeast Georgia, yet is less than one hour from metropolitan Atlanta, and within easy access to the scenic Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee mountains.
