Overview

Utah State University seeks a dynamic individual to serve as a member of the nursing faculty. The successful candidate will have a solid background in nursing education and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with in teams. Primary duties are teaching (90%) and service (10%).

This is a non-tenure track, nine-month academic year position at the Professional Practice Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level beginning August 1, 2021.

Review of applicants will begin February 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities

This position fills the role of a faculty member within the USU Nursing Program. The successful candidate will provide concept-based instruction in undergraduate (BSN) courses. Areas of desired expertise include both classroom and online teaching and course management, simulation/lab experience, and a broad range of nursing teaching expertise. Responsibilities may include curriculum development, teaching, professional engagement, and service. Courses are taught online and in person at USU's main campus in Logan, UT.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:


1. An earned Masters degree in nursing

2. A record of excellent teaching in nursing

3. Ability to promote a positive and collaborative environment

4. Licensed registered nurse in the State of Utah or a Nurse Licensure Compact state

5. Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills

6. Demonstrated ability in teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills

7. Significant online teaching experience

8. Licensed registered nurse in the state of Utah or eligible for licensure in the state.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. A minimum of five years of faculty experience in a higher education nursing program

2. Experience in concept-based instruction and student-centered learning

3. Experience with nursing or hospital accreditation processes

4. Experience working within a multi campus system
