Position Title: Anatomic Pathology Clinical Instructor                                                                    Department: Pathobiology/College of Veterinary  Medicine

Status: Full-Time

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

Perform necropsies and record gross and microscopic findings and reports the results from specimens submitted to the necropsy laboratory under direct supervision by a faculty pathologist
Assist in the training of professional students in the DVM program, including providing extensive review of previously taught course material
Be available for after hour emergency call back during the week, on weekends, and during holidays
Perform gross and microscopic evaluations on biopsy specimens submitted to the VDSL and rep01t the findings under direct supervision of a faculty pathologist
Receive on-the-job training necessary to become proficient in any and all procedures  required for operation of the various diagnostic laboratories (i.e., Necropsy, Histopathology, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology,  Parasitology)
Assist with teaching in preclinical Pathobiology courses
Other duties as prescribed by the supervisor


DVM (Doctor ofVeterinary Medicine) Degree, formal post-DVM training
Experience  in necropsy technique, histological tissue preparations, and formal written report generation are highly preferable
Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to work closely with pathologists, clinical pathologist, clinicians and biomedical scientists as well as graduate and professional students
