Postdoctoral Research Associate in Cancer and Vascular Biology (143311)
Grade 7: Salary in the range £32,817 – £40,322 per annum
We are seeking a self-motivated and committed Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Kusumbe lab at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, University of Oxford.This project aims to unravel the role of blood vessels and their endothelial cells during metastasis.
You will be a member of a young and dynamic research group studying tissue and tumour microenvironments and you will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including PhD and project students. You will manage your own academic and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines as well, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers.
You must have a PhD (or near completion) in molecular/cell biology or a related discipline, together with relevant practical experience. Sufficient specialist knowledge in vascular or bone biology and ability to manage own academic research and associated activities are essential for this post. Willingness to work with the mouse model systems and experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project would be desirable.
This is a full time appointment for 2 years in the first instance.
Due to the nature of the research at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, this job will require additional security pre-employment checks:
