The School of Nursing, in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Northern Illinois University (NIU), invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate professor level in its nursing program to begin August 2023 or sooner.
The nursing program offers a B.S. in Nursing through pre-licensure and degree-completion programs, an M.S. in Nursing with specializations in Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The bachelor’s and master’s program are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

This is a full-time (9 months) tenure-track faculty position with teaching responsibilities in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. This position also includes scholarship and service responsibilities commensurate with earning tenure according to school, college and university policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate may instruct at either the undergraduate or graduate level or both. The position will teach a diverse student population and may include online course delivery and travel to off-campus locations, as well as research, university and professional service and student advising.

- Clinical experience gained through varied healthcare settings
- Teaching in person, on line, and hybrid models
- Demonstrated use of classroom technologies
- Experience with Electronic Health Records
