The School of Interdisciplinary Health Professions at Northern Illinois University (NIU) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions. These are 9-month appointments to begin August 2020 for Assistant or Associate Professor in Rehabilitation Counseling based on qualifications.
The chosen candidates will teach courses in the Rehabilitation Counseling master’s program and Rehabilitation and Disability Services undergraduate program. Engage in scholarly activity (e.g., research publications, presentations, grants). Positively contribute in committee service within the university (i.e., program, department, college university levels) and profession. Provide student advisement. As an integral part of the rehabilitation counseling program, the assistant/associate professor will provide insights in curricular improvements and overall program development and assessment. Further, he/she/they will carry out his/her/their duties using methods consistent with the standards set forth in the accreditation and certification requirements of the program’s accrediting bodies including the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).
Potential areas of research and clinical focus that are desired include: case management, program evaluation, family systems, addictions and /or trauma/crisis intervention. Candidates with expertise in all content areas will be considered.
