Under the direction of the Executive Director of the School of Nursing, the Clinical Placement Manager (Managing Assistant Director III) manages all aspects of the clinical placement process including monitoring students’ placements and clinical records as well as maintaining and obtaining contracts, mandatory legal documentation (license verification, liability insurance, qualifications of preceptors and preceptor orientation etc.) and coordinating clinical placement for all campuses and locations, including Union, Kean Ocean and RVCC. The Clinical Placement Manager will also create databases to track students’ progress and timely clinical placement; contact Nursing colleagues, constituents and preceptors at the different sites to ensure timely placement and further relationships with our partner institutions; participates in the development of goals, policies and procedures for the School of Nursing; and does related work as required. The Clinical Placement Manager may be required to teach two in-load courses each semester (spring and fall) in addition to assigned managerial duties and responsibilities. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including occasional evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Nursing; a minimum of two years of professional experience working in the field of nursing; and current active RN license in the State of New Jersey is required. Previous experience in clinical placement and teaching experience is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidate must have proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and database management.
