Job Summary
The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Kentucky is seeking applicants for Research Title Series (non-tenure earning), 12-month faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. The successful candidate will provide methodological expertise for the implementation of the Transformational Collaborative Outcomes Management (TCOM) framework utilizing the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) and related TCOM tools within the Center for Innovation in Population Health. The position requires a candidate with the ability to develop innovative methodological tools, who can develop and conduct research, and who can offer analytic and training support for population-based data related to the mission of the Center. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead or conduct analysis, oversee the generation of reporting using these data, develop methodological tools, and offer innovative methodological solutions. A Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics or a related field is preferred.

This position will provide faculty liaison with multiple system partners and work with University of Kentucky and College of Public Health researchers to shape their research to include child-specific clinical perspectives and data. Responsibilities will include methodologic work supporting the mission and funding mechanisms of the Center (e.g. Transformational Collaborative Outcomes Management TCOM-related work with agencies and jurisdictions). This will include developing and conducting research projects that identify gaps and create new knowledge for precision analytics and data science as it relates to TCOM and CANS. The faculty member will support the implementation of TCOM, including publishing new methodologies, clinical findings or implementation based on novel research, providing technical and analytic assistance and training. This will include training on the use of CANS, data methodologies, and other data-related aspects that support decision making, quality improvement initiatives, and the monitoring of outcomes and services. Faculty will be expected to prepare applications for contract and/or grant funding, conduct research on population-based data generated by the Center and researchers related to the Center, develop and implement best practices for database management/computational strategies/reproducibility, acquire and maintain databases, and analyze these data. Faculty will demonstrate evidence through abstracts, presentations at professional meetings, scholarly papers suitable for publication in peer reviewed journals. Faculty in this role will be critical for offering statistical, computational, and organizational input for projects of the Center. We seek a team scientist who is capable of growing methodological expertise and biostatistics capacity by contributing to collaborative opportunities within research centers and partnerships across campus, Kentucky and beyond.
