10 Month Tenure-track Faculty Position, School of Communication Disorders and Deafness
Communication Disorders and Deafness (Audiology) - to teach a range of undergraduate, MA and doctoral courses in the field of communication sciences and disorders with a focus on audiology and related sciences. This position includes active participation in our Center for Communication Disorders Clinic, including clinical oversight of our Audiology Clinic services.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited program (ex. Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Audiology or Communication Sciences and Disorders with an emphasis in Audiology or the equivalent; current New Jersey State licensure in Audiology; and university-level teaching experience is required. Applicants who have CCC-AUD certification but are not licensed in New Jersey will be considered and if hired, must apply for and receive New Jersey licensure prior to September 1, 2024. CCC-AUD or eligibility for certification; an established research agenda; and the ability to manage and supervise in an Audiology Clinic is preferred. Candidate must have a demonstrated ability and experience in guiding student research and in performing other duties associated with university faculty positions. Recent graduates and ABD candidates will be considered with degree completion by September 1, 2023. A robust research agenda, past and future as well as clinical skills that are particularly focused on pediatric audiology, auditory processing disorders, and educational audiology are highly desired.
This is a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track position, effective for the Fall 2023 semester. This position may be offered at Assistant, Associate or Professor rank depending on qualifications and experience. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Evening hours are required for teaching graduate course assignments. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations.
All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable.
Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required, consistent with University guidelines.
