Project Summary:

Faculty and researchers conduct research supported by substantial external grants and contracts from federal sponsors, private foundations, and generous donors. Administrative staff supports the school’s mission of research, teaching, and public service. This role will support the following projects:

The Leading a Sustainability Transition in Nutrition (LASTING) Project, led by a team of interdisciplinary faculty at the Friedman School, focuses on putting diets at the core of science and policy to improve all four pillars of sustainability, environmental, health, economic, and social, simultaneously. We are midway through year 3 of this 4.5-year project and are actively generating context-specific, actionable recommendations to policymakers and the food industry to help tackle diet-related morbidity and mortality, environmental impacts, social and economic inequities, and training future leaders of the sustainability transition in nutrition.

The Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture (TUCCA), led by the School of Engineering, School of Arts and Sciences, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, and Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, is the world’s first university-wide cellular agriculture program. This position will support sustainability and consumer-focused cellular agriculture projects projects led by Friedman School investigators.

What You'll Do

This is be a part-time and benefits eligible position at 24.5 hours per week. It is an estimated 3-4 day work week with the exact schedule to be determined by the supervisor. This role is also grant funded and limited term until November 30, 2025. 

In collaboration with Principal Investigators, the Project Administrator provides specialized, subject matter knowledge and management skills to develop, implement, and evaluate research projects. Strong organizational and project management skills are crucial to success in this role, as well as experience in science and research translation. This position will handle the below duties:

  • Development of goals and strategies
  • Creation of data management and filing systems
  • Scheduling of team meetings
  • Hiring and training of new staff
  • Creation of website and communication materials content
  • Drafting reports and manuscripts

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., nutrition, public health, epidemiology, sustainability, agricultural economics, environmental science) and 3+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree in a related discipline and 1-2 years related experience
  • Experience with grant writing
  • Experience with project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with a content management system, such as WordPress or Drupal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline
  • Research and research translation experience in a related field
  • Experience supporting high-level research and/or faculty members and their research

Pay Range

Minimum $52,600.00, Midpoint $65,750.00, Maximum $78,900.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
