Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Clinical Education (Director III) organizes, plans and directs the formal Clinical Education of Physical Therapy students at Kean University and at clinical sites off-campus. This is a 12-month position for an accredited program that teaches entry-level physical therapy students and supervises clinical education experiences during the fall, spring and summer terms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing the operations of the clinical site in the education and preparation of Physical Therapy students; developing, implementing and assessing student learning objectives, clinical practice performance and policies and procedures for clinical education; facilitating quality learning experiences for students during clinical education; and performing related work as required.
Qualifications: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program in Physical Therapy; licensure as a physical therapist, with eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey; and a minimum of three years of full-time, post-licensure clinical practice experience is required. Two years of the clinical practice must include experience as a Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) or Clinical Instructor (CI) in physical therapy. Two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a physical therapy education program may be substituted for this experience. Candidate must demonstrate the experience needed to contribute to the educational and scholarly development of the program. A post-professional/terminal degree (Ph.D., D.Sc., Ed.D. or equivalent degree) is preferred.
