Western Michigan University invites applications and nominations for two (2) Assistant Professor positions in the WMU Bronson School of Nursing. The positions are tenure track, academic year (9-month) appointments.
Major Responsibilities: Faculty are required to teach didactic and clinical courses in undergraduate and/or graduate programs; assist with the development of the graduate program in nursing; bring or secure external funding for research or special projects; sustained productivity and growth in research and grant writing; demonstrate scholarly productivity through publications; demonstrate regional, national/international reputation in area of expertise; contribute to an interdisciplinary environment of research, instruction and community collaborations; contribute to the missions of the School, College and University; service to the Department, the University, the profession and the community.
Qualifications: Earned research doctorate in nursing or related field by August 1, 2020 or earned DNP degree by August 1, 2020 from accredited institution; a DNP degree will be considered on an individual basis and applicant will be required to complete a sequence of doctoral-level research courses; graduate degree in nursing; expertise in gerontology, mental health, adult health nursing or quality and safety; Registered Nurse License with eligibility for MI license; evidence of technological literacy and on-line instruction preferred; teaching experience in a nursing baccalaureate program preferred; demonstrated potential to maintain an active program of scholarly research and grant writing related to field of expertise; and evidence of global engagement preferred.

School: The WMU Bronson School of Nursing is a vibrant school that focuses on the scholarship of teaching, research, and service. In addition to the Director of the Bronson School of Nursing, over 23 full-time faculty and 25-30 part-time faculty provide instruction and experiences for prelicensure, Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) students. The total enrollment includes approximately 390 undergraduate students and a small cohort of MSN students. The WMU Bronson School of Nursing is granted full approval by the Michigan Board of Nursing. The undergraduate and graduate programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The WMU Bronson School of Nursing is one of the few nursing schools to receive endorsement from the American Holistic Nursing Certification Corporation.
