Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of Kinesiology is accepting applications for Part-Time Instructors. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach a variety of courses within the curricula. The maximum teaching load is four courses per semester (12 credits per semester). Responsibilities will most likely include teaching the following courses: Principles of Strength and Conditioning; Advanced Principles of Strength and Conditioning; Applied Anatomy; Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription; Exercise Programming in Special Populations; Anatomy and Physiology for Kinesiology.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Kinesiology serves 700 undergraduate majors and 25 graduate students. The department will be teaching out the current BS in Sport Science and Fitness Management, and teaching the new BS in Kinesiology (starting Fall 2020).
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science with a clear specialization in Exercise Science. At least two years of experience teaching at the University or Community College level.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
PhD with Scientific background; 3-5 years teaching experience at the University or Community College level and with background in strength and conditioning are preferred. Preferred – CSCS, EP-C, RCEP or equivalents.
