POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Applied Physiology at Concordia University in Montréal, Québec, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Concussion Management at the rank of Assistant Professor. Duties include research, teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and service to the institution. The successful applicant will conduct research in the prevention, assessment, and/or rehabilitation of mild traumatic head injuries or sport related concussions. Examples of targeted areas include but are not limited to biomarkers of concussions, brain imaging, physiological mechanisms of head injuries, novel technology for assessment or rehabilitation, as well as prevention and management strategies. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the current research themes in the Department, including injury prevention, pain management, and overall health interventions.

Qualifications and assets
Candidates must have completed their PhD or be near completion at the start date of the appointment. The main criteria for selection are scholarly and teaching excellence. The successful candidate will provide evidence of high-quality scholarly output that demonstrates potential for independent research leading to peer assessed publications and the securing of external research funding, as well as strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The language of instruction at Concordia is English, but a working knowledge of French is an asset.
Applicants’ Ph.D. degree must be in a related field, and an Athletic Therapy or Athletic Training certification is strongly preferred.
