The Public Health Program at Northern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor to begin August 2020. The B.S. in Public Health Program is one of the largest undergraduate programs in the College. High achieving undergraduate students can apply for the accelerated five-year B.S. to M.P.H. program. The B.S. Public Health includes emphases in health administration, environment and health, health promotion, and general public health which includes practicum experience in preparation for a variety of career opportunities. The growing M.P.H. program is offered both online and face-to-face with specializations in health promotion and health services management. A graduate certificate and minor in Public Health offer options for additional career choices.
The Assistant Professor of Public Health will combine teaching, research and leadership of a diverse student body of undergraduate and graduate students in the area of health services management or administration.
- Teaching courses (online and in-person) related to health services management which include but not limited to health finance, health economics, health policy or healthcare administration.
- Actively develop or continue a research agenda and seek internal and/or external funding.
- Mentoring and advising students.
- Support the MS in Health Sciences or the PhD in Health Sciences of the college.
