Kennedy Krieger Institute invites applications for a faculty position focused on pediatric communication sciences related to children with developmental and acquired neurological disorders. This position provides oversight to the speech language pathology and audiology departments, currently led by seasoned clinical directors. Kennedy Krieger Institute provides extensive opportunities for faculty to develop and expand their research portfolio and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and faculty at Johns Hopkins University. Integrating the research agenda with clinical research training opportunities will also be essential.
The Departments of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology benefit from clinical data stored in our new electronic health system designed to enhance clinical outcomes, and clinician effectiveness and efficiency. Career development pathways provide opportunities for the development of new and emerging clinical service lines, patient-oriented research, and training of students at many levels. The Departments also have a multi-faceted clinician development program organized to support the maintenance of licensure as well as specialty certifications, including many Institute-sponsored rounds, lectures, and continuing education opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications, experience in program development and be eligible for Maryland licensure as a clinician in speech/language pathology or audiology. We expect that this individual will be appointed as faculty at Johns Hopkins University in a relevant department. The academic rank of this position will be commensurate with prior scholarly achievements.
