The School of Nursing at Clemson University invites applicants for an open rank, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. The position is a 9- month appointment and is predominantly located on the Clemson University School of Nursing Building in Greenville, SC with occasional responsibilities at a secondary site of instruction on the main campus in Clemson, SC. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2023, or when filled. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in the field of addiction research: biological mechanisms, addiction treatment, prevention and/or recovery. The candidate should also have a demonstrated record of funded research, publications, scholarly activities, and graduate student supervision.
Teaching: Develop and deliver relevant course material consistent with teaching at an R1 level University. Preparation consistent with teaching both undergraduate and graduate students.
Research and Scholarship: Lead research initiatives among nursing faculty and students, healthcare partners, and other departments within the university.
Service: Serve on University, College and School committees as elected. Provide a national and or international presence in relevant professional organizations that demonstrate expertise in the area of addiction research.
Engagement: Participate in activities related to the advancement of the mission, vision, and goals for the School of Nursing.
• Registered nurse with a PhD in Nursing or related field
• Eligible for South Carolina RN License
• Evidence of well-developed program of research related to the field of addiction
• Ability to contribute collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members in established addiction research center and/or clinics
• Evidence of successful research and grant writing
• Proficiency with emerging healthcare technologies and information systems
• Experience teaching in higher education and working with diverse student populations
• Ability to lead students to successful completion of graduate or dissertation requirements
