Description
The Master of Public Health Program (MPH) invites applications for full-time, 12-month positions in Public Health beginning July 1, 2022. We are interested in candidates with 5 or more years of experience conducting epidemiologic research in academia, community, government, or consulting settings.

Our MPH program is rapidly growing, offering both on-campus and on-line graduate study. We welcome candidates from diverse cultures and academic backgrounds, including but not limited to social epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, or clinical epidemiology. The program recently completed a curricular revamping of our core public health classes to demonstrate a keen and explicit focus on health equity, eliminating inequities, and acknowledging the role of racism in exacerbating health disparities in communities of color.

The initial appointment term in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine will be for three years with the expectation of renewal, contingent upon annual performance review results. As a clinical department of the School of Medicine, the Department does not offer tenure. Faculty will engage in teaching, research, and service, making contributions to the scholarship and service missions of the department and school. Our program focus is on training master’s level students for applied work. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to devote at least half of their time to teaching.

The Department of Public Health and Community Medicine has grown substantially in the past several years both in diversity and focus. In addition to our MPH program, the Department recently launched a Master of Science program in Health Informatics and Analytics, as well as a Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

The Department benefits from excellent graduate students, collaborative faculty, and cross-disciplinary research opportunities. Tufts University supports and encourages a culture of interdisciplinary scholarship, and there are numerous such opportunities within the School of Medicine, the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and our Clinical and Translational Science Institute, whose network comprises 40 medical, academic, industry, & community partners and collaborators.

Qualifications
Requirements: Doctoral degree in epidemiology or a public health-related field and 5+ years of experience in a public health-related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear commitment to research, teaching, and service. Associate and Full Professor level candidates should have a proven track record of scholarship. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to devote at least half of their time to teaching, on-campus and on-line.
To ensure full consideration, applications must be submitted by March 5, 2022. Review of applications will start immediately and continue until the position is filled.
