The Department of Human Movement Science, Physical Therapy Program at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, invites applications for two nontenure-track visiting instructors to begin August 15, 2020. Responsibilities include teaching, student advising, and university and community service. Qualifications include a doctor of physical therapy degree, or post-professional doctorate or post-professional graduate certificate completed by August 15, 2020, as well as clinical experience in physical therapy. Applicants with experience as clinical instructors, clinical site coordinators, or instructors or that hold board certifications or graduate certificates in any clinical practice area, are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate must hold a Michigan Physical Therapy license. Content expertise of the candidate and the current faculty will determine teaching responsibilities. Candidates must demonstrate experience with, and a commitment to, diversity and inclusion.

The School of Health Sciences serves over 2000 undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and post-professional students through a singular model of advancing community-engaged translational relationships. We connect theory to best practices in four thematic areas. Interdisciplinary Health Sciences – undergraduate programs in health sciences, and applied health sciences for associate degree holders are offered with concentrations in nutrition, holistic health, and pre-health professions. Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences – includes pre-clinical professions, medical laboratory science, histotechnology radiologic technology, and nuclear medicine. Human Movement Science – the doctor of physical therapy and master of exercise sciences programs offer post-professional certificates and support undergraduate health sciences programs. Public and Environmental Wellness – our comprehensive programs consist of undergraduate wellness and health promotion, undergraduate and graduate environmental health and safety, and the master of public health. Doctoral degree or degree completed by August 15, 2020; clinical experience in physical therapy; candidate must hold a Michigan Physical Therapy license.
