The Department of Public Health Sciences at New Mexico State University (NMSU) seeks exceptional candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor at the Las Cruces, NM main campus.
The successful candidate will teach at least four classes per year with opportunities to buy out courses and advance their own externally funded research program. The successful candidate will collaborate across disciplines with academic colleagues at NMSU and partnering institutions, as well as with community partners and stakeholders. The position includes a 9-month annual appointment, with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD, Dr.PH, or ScD in Epidemiology, enthusiasm for team science, and a demonstrated record of (1) effectiveness as a teacher, (2) peer reviewed publication (3) grant submissions and funding, and (4) professional service appropriate to the discipline.

The successful applicant will continue building an independent as well as collaborative research agenda; secure and maintain extramural funding; teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in our public health (BPH, MPH) and Health Equity Sciences (PhD) programs; mentor masters and doctoral students in research; help recruit and mentor diverse students; engage in the programmatic work and activities of the Public Health Sciences Department; and serve the university and public health profession. This person must commit to playing an essential role on interdisciplinary research collaborations designed to promote health equity in diverse populations and contributing to the service mission of the Department of Public Health Sciences, the College of Health and Social Transformation, and the university.
