Position Description:
The School of Health Professions at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track (Clinical Assistant Professor) faculty position in the Health Science major-Exercise Science Concentration, Department of Health Science.  The faculty will report to the Chairperson of the Health Science Department and will have responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.

Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses (prerequisite, core, and exercise science concentration of study courses in the major). Additional responsibilities include administrative oversight of the exercise science concentration of study, and departmental and school service including but not limited to, admissions, orientation, assisting the program director with assessment and accreditation efforts, marketing the concentration, recruitment of adjuncts, advising students, and providing service to the department and School - assisting the Chairperson with alumni engagement, external giving outreach and other assignments which contribute to program growth that supports diversity and inclusion.

In response to the New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulation requiring Hospital and Nursing Home personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, candidates selected for patient care positions or positions that may come in contact with patients or patient care employees, if not already vaccinated, must be fully vaccinated or obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of acceptance of conditional job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the DOH vaccine protocol. Special Notes:
Non-Tenure Track position.  FLSA Exempt positions, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  To qualify for a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Health Professions Appointment, Promotion and Tenure committee and go through the review process.

Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in a field related to Exercise Science
2. Experience teaching as primary instructor at the undergraduate level
3. Experience teaching diverse student body

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Doctoral degree in a field related to Exercise Science
2. Experience teaching both in person and online/hybrid courses
3. Curriculum development experience
4. Ability to function effectively as a team member in a fast-paced dynamic environment
5. Experience teaching diverse student body
