The mission of the Obesity and Metabolism Lab is to understand the molecular, cellular, and systemic basis of obesity and to develop therapeutic strategies to ameliorate obesity and its complications.
What You'll Do
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, the technician conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which may include monitoring and feeding laboratory animals, performing assays, tissue culture, electrophoresis, and other laboratory techniques. Will also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. The technician may also be called upon to adapt new assays as well as read and interpret scientific literature.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science or relate area with up to 1 year lab experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in biology, chemistry or related field, familiarity with basic laboratory techniques (pH meter, spectrophotometers, balance, PCR), sterile cell culture facility, and essential standard procedures, laboratory resesearch experience.
