A postdoctoral position is available in the Cardiovascular Pathophysiology Laboratory in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University to study the role of iron mediated inflammation in doxirubicin induced heart disease in breast cancer models. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct research and collect data and perform data analyses, write manuscripts, and submit grants and present results in seminars and meetings.
Doctoral degree, PhD or equivalent, DVM, MD, in Biomedical, Biological, or related field
Experience in breast cancer animal models, cell culture, primary cell isolation, molecular biology and immunology techniques, including PCR, , immunoblotting, Gel electrophoresis, and protein, RNA, and DNA work preferred.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Advanced in Animal handling – Capable of handling small laboratory animals
Advanced in Cell culture – Capable of processing and culturing cells and cell culture without contamination
Proficient in Computer application knowledge – Knowledge of applicable applications and basic functions
Proficient in Technical skills – Ability to utilize technical skills
Proficient in Data reconciliation – Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness
Proficient in Personnel interaction – Ability to interact with others (verbal/written)
Proficient in Attention to detail – Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment
Advanced in Basic math – Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Proficient in Follow instructions – Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
Proficient in Research methods – Knowledge of research methodology, principles, practices in area of work
