Primary Purpose The Occupational Therapy Program Director is a faculty member and leader of a dynamic and growing graduate program and works collaboratively with the Chair of the Department of Physical and Occupational Therapy. Depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate, a non-tenure track position may be negotiable.
Maintain ACOTE accreditation status.
Direct program curriculum.
Implement approved expansion to remote site and assist in planning for upgrade to Doctoral Program.
Oversee all program admissions and student promotion and retention.
Establish, enforce, and review all program policies and procedures and assure alignment within the university structure.
Oversee the program budget and set priorities through strategic planning.
Support faculty development in the areas of teaching, research, and service.
Manage and evaluate faculty and staff as assigned.
Teach and conduct research/scholarship in areas of expertise.
Must hold a Clinical or Academic doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Must be licensed or elgible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the state of Idaho.
At least eight (8) years of full-time experience (or equivalent) as an occupational therapist.
Experience must include clinical practice, administration, and scholarship.
At least three (3) years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level.
Clinical and/or teaching experience in the areas of pediatrics, assistive technology, and/or ergonomics.
Established line of research with publications and demonstrated grantsmanship.
Academic leadership experience including curriculum development, budgeting, program evaluation, and faculty development.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to foster and develop relationships and build consensus with the faculty and staff, as well as with local, regional and national healthcare communities.
Demonstrated ability to work with students, patients, staff and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
