The Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics is seeking a Clinician Scientist to collaborate with clinical departments. This position will work part time as a clinician and with a significant amount of effort towards researcher. The goal is to bolster clinical research in the College of Medicine and in particular in the area of infectious diseases research.
The responsibilities of the person in this position is to build an independent and internationally recognized research program in infectious diseases in collaboration with the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Internal Medicine, Department of Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery, and Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. This person will also perform clinical duties within the Division of Infectious Diseases. It is expected that the faculty member will develop a strong track record of high quality principal author publications in peer reviewed journals as well as a sustained funding record from federal and private major funding agencies. Excellence in teaching is expected both in the classroom and in training students, residents, and fellows.
