The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Health Professions, Department of Laboratory Sciences and Primary Care, Physician Assistant Program invites applications from highly motivated individuals for a full-time faculty member position. Faculty rank, salary, and tenure status will be based on terminal degree and experience. TTUHSC PA Program is a 27-month, master’s-level curriculum located Midland, TX in a dedicated PA program facility, providing an environment of learning with a cohesive faculty and student body. The PA program has strong administrative support and excellent salary and benefits.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Teach basic or clinical sciences in area of expertise
  • Prepare and deliver instruction and assess student performance in assigned courses
  • Assist the clinical team in recruitment and monitoring of clinical sites and preceptors and student progress
  • Student advising and remediation in the didactic and clinical phases of the program
  • Participate on committees including admissions, student progression, curriculum, and self-study
  • Participate in university, professional, scholarly, and community service activities

Occasional responsibilities:

  • Engage in other activities as determined by the Physician Assistant Program Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
For non-PA applicant:

  • Terminal degree in sciences or education
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in higher education
    For PA applicants:
  • Master’s degree in PA Studies or other discipline
  • Current NCCPA certification, eligibility for licensure in Texas
  • Two years of clinical experience
    All Candidates
  • Strong communication, time management, and computer skills
