The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) at the Dornsife School of Public Health invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek applicants committed to collaborative, interdisciplinary research on the environmental and occupational determinants of health, consistent with the School’s mission of promoting health as a human right, improving health in cities, eliminating health disparities, and promoting health in all policies. We are soliciting applications broadly, from candidates with expertise in any area of environmental and occupational health.

Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, demonstrate strong potential for securing external funding, and experience in, or potential for, high-quality teaching and mentoring. We value diversity among the members of our Department and School.

Essential Functions:
Teach courses in the Dornsife School of Public Health at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Advise and mentor graduate students.

Develop an independent program of research and scholarship; lead and participate in the development of grant proposals; author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Serve on university committees, community advisors boards, and professional groups.

  • The Department currently offers a Master of Public Health degree in EOH and a Master of Science degree in EOH Sciences. The Department has 12 research, teaching, or clinical faculty from a range of disciplines. Faculty expertise in EOH includes environmental epidemiology, exposure science, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, injury prevention, occupational health psychology, public health preparedness, and risk communication.
