MacEwan University has a long-standing history of providing quality nursing education that is relevant and reflective of current nursing practice in the province and across Canada. The University’s Faculty of Nursing includes the Department of Nursing Science, the Department of Psychiatric Nursing, and the Department of Interprofessional Education and Simulation Learning.
The BScN program, offered through the Department of Nursing Science (DNS), fosters meaningful learning experiences using a variety of teaching methods and approaches to inspire confident, competent, compassionate and ethical graduate nurses. The DNS is supported in our teaching by a state-of-the-art clinical simulation centre. The program emphasizes development of a strong disciplinary knowledge base, diverse nursing practice skills, and demonstration of professional attributes. Criticality, caring and complexity sciences provide a philosophical foundation for the program of study. Applications are invited for two full-time tenure-track appointments in the Department of Nursing Science, at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2020, subject to final budgetary approval. Requirements include: a minimum of 3 years’ recent teaching experience in nursing, preferably in an undergraduate learning environment; a minimum of 5 years of practice experience; a graduate degree in nursing, preferably at the doctoral level; and active licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Candidates should possess passion for teaching undergraduate nursing students, solid presentation skills, enthusiasm for developing research capacity in others, and a strong commitment to contribute to service opportunities within the Department, the Faculty and the University. All applicable areas of expertise and specialization will be considered.

Salary: $66,788 to $108,110 per annum
