The laboratory of Molecular Physiology and Metabolism from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil invites applications for one post-doctoral research position in molecular metabolism.
This two-years position is a part of project that aims to investigate the involvement of the nutrient and growth factor sensor mTOR in obesity and associated hepatic diseases (steatosis, steatopatite and carcinoma). This post-doctoral project aims to develop mass spectrometry assays for the identification of lipids, oxylipids and proteins modified by lipids in the liver of mouse models of obesity and hepatic diseases.
Applicants must have a PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology or related disciplines and attested experience in mass spectrometry and mouse models of obesity and related diseases. Experience with culture of hepatocytes, flow cytometry, qPCR, western blot and cre-lox system is a plus. The most successful applicants will also have demonstrated ability for independent high-quality research and desire to mentor undergraduate research students.
