    Position Summary
    Dr. Meng Wang, assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health (EEH), School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP), is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral scholar to join his research team. The postdoctoral associate will work on projects related to the health effects of exposure to air pollution mixtures. The candidate will be involved in developing exposure models for air pollution mixtures with an integrated approach of geo-statistics and remote sensing. The candidate will also oversee the application of statistical methods to assess air pollution mixtures and their health effects. The candidate will write manuscripts, present at professional conferences, and develop research proposals.

    There is funding available for this position for two years, however, the appointment will be reviewed and renewed on an annual basis. Extensions beyond two years may be possible depending upon continued funding and further evaluation. The start date is flexible between summer and fall of 2019.

    EEH has a long and outstanding record of research, teaching and service in public health, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2019. The department has research in epidemiology, health services administration and environmental health and teaches students at the undergraduate and graduate levels (MPH, MS and PhD).     Minimum Qualifications
    The candidate will possess a PhD in environmental health sciences, geoscience, exposure assessment, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field. Candidate is expected to be familiar with geo-statistics (e.g. ArcGIS or PostGIS) and data processing packages in Python or R language. The candidate should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and project management experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in GIS-based spatial modeling and/or knowledge of air pollution modeling. Additional preferable qualifications include experience in remote sensing and statistical programming in Python or R language. Knowledge of environmental epidemiology not required but is a plus.
