    Department Summary
    The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban design. We have seven academic departments with undergraduate and graduate programs, the Center for Public Management, the UNT Speech and Hearing Center, the UNT Work Inclusion and Supported Employment (UNTWISE) program, and a number of professional development and clinical training programs to facilitate careers to address a global society.

    HPS students are trained to lead nonprofits, become educators, researchers and professionals who strengthen the diverse communities we serve, with thoughtful, inclusive, and equitable practices as audiologists, behavior analysts, city managers, emergency managers, health care administrators, public safety administrators, public health specialists, rehabilitation counselors, speech language pathologists, social workers, urban planners, and more.

    The mission of UNT ENGAGE is to encourage a neurodiverse and inclusive campus by supporting the success of neurodivergent students in post-secondary education and beyond through individualized, student-centered services.

    ENGAGE serves neurodivergent students enrolled at UNT with reaching their academic and vocational goals through person-centered planning and individualized services. Students participate in assessment and planning meetings to identify personal, academic, and vocational goals.
    ENGAGE staff support and guide students to reach those goals through weekly meetings, workshops, and referrals.
    ENGAGE is dedicated to helping UNT’s neurodivergent students in adjusting to university life and turning their degrees into careers.

    Position Overview
    To plan, coordinate and develop grant activities of the UNT ENGAGE Program in compliance with university and funding guidelines and regulations. This position is responsible for developing individual program plans, developing and overseeing academic and vocational services, providing case management services, developing relationships with employers and referral sources, and mentoring rehabilitation students as they develop employment services skills.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor’s Degree in related field and four years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to adapt to program/project and incorporate creativity and originality

    Preferred Qualifications
    Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Special Education or related field preferred.
