Overview
Tufts University Occupational Health Services (OHS) provides work-related medical services to university faculty, staff, and employees, with the goal of preventing and minimizing health risks. Student Health Services supports the educational mission of Tufts University by providing accessible and high-quality health care for a highly diverse student population. The Grafton campus of Tufts University is home to the Cumming’s School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and the Tufts New England Regional Biosafety Laboratory. On the Grafton campus, Tufts OHS will provide occupational health services and certain episodic care services to faculty and staff and students using a unique blended model responding to the needs of Tufts’ entire Grafton community. NPs and RNs work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet the medical needs of students, faculty and staff including evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries, disease prevention, health promotion, and routine primary care services. Mental health services for students are provided by a vendor which provides a mix of on-site and virtual consultations.
What You'll Do
The senior nurse practitioner site manager provides medical care for faculty, staff, and students on Tufts University’s Grafton campus and supports the development and operationalization of the vision of University’s provision of outstanding and high-quality comprehensive health care services to the Grafton community. For faculty and staff, the NP provides work-related medical services such as health screens, vaccinations, work-related injury evaluations and treatment, case management, medical surveillance monitoring, and some episodic care. The senior NP provides basic primary care and episodic care for doctoral of veterinary medicine students and other graduate-level students on the Grafton campus.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements
• Knowledge and experience typically acquired by obtaining a Master of Science degree in nursing • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts (or have qualifications to obtain one) • Must have at least 8-10 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. • Must have at least three years of experience as an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner • Must have at least three years of experience in an ambulatory primary care setting required with a focus on student health • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated training and experience with needs of diverse populations and impact of racial trauma and racism. Some training regarding the health needs of LGBTQ+ patients is essential, as well as those of different ethnicities and immigration histories. Knowledge of Massachusetts workers’ compensation law, HIPAA, OSHA, ADA and FMLA Experience providing occupational health services in research facilities is strongly preferred. University student health experience required.
