  • Assistant Professor, Nutrition Science
    Food Science and Human Nutrition
    Colorado State University

    The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) is seeking applications for 1-2 Assistant Professors in the area of Nutrition Science. The 9-month tenure/tenure track appointments will begin August 16, 2025. We are particularly seeking applicants who can complement our current faculty research focused on cardiometabolic health, obesity, gut health and the microbiome, and functional foods. Examples of such research areas include but are not limited to pre- clinical and clinical research on nutrient or phytochemical metabolism, precision nutrition, nutritional immunology and diverse populations (e.g., aging, minoritized, and other underrepresented populations).


    Successful candidates are expected to establish a nationally recognized, externally funded research program, integrate their research into existing department, college, and university priority areas, and teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The position will have outstanding department support, strong research infrastructure, and access to collaborative opportunities both within CSU and with academic industry partners.


    Required Qualifications



    • Ph.D. in Nutrition or any related field

    • At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience or previous academic appointment

    • Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed research publications in excellent journals

    • Demonstrated ability to acquire research funding

    • Commitment to advance the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals, and activities

    • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor undergraduate and/or graduate students


    Preferred Qualifications



    • Evidence of interdisciplinary research and successful team-based collaboration

    • Experience writing large external grants Application Instructions
