    Job Purpose
    The Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, is accepting applications for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor levels, with the start date of January 2025.

    The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Public Health, specializing in Biostatistics/Epidemiology, and demonstrate an exceptional academic and research track record. The responsibilities for this position include teaching core courses in biostatistics and epidemiology, as well as other courses related to public health.

    Main accountabilities & expectations
    Teaching a range of core courses related to biostatistics and epidemiology for undergraduate and graduate students.
    Teaching experiences in other courses related to public health.
    Supervise senior and graduate students in their graduation projects and dissertations.
    Evaluate students' learning using various methods of assessments.
    Advice students on academic matters.
    Actively participate in departmental assignments and student activities as assigned by the department chair or college dean.
    Serve on department, faculty and university committees.
    Actively engage in research and community services.

    Required Skills
    The candidate should speak English fluently, demonstrate creativity, commitment and good predispositions to work in a team.
    The candidate should have good computer skills, including experience in using different statistical analysis software.
    Strong interpersonal skills that can produce effective professor-student interactions and colleague to colleague communication.
    The candidate must show evidence of active and consistent contributions to his/her field through receiving grants, publishing in internationally recognized and peer-reviewed journals and participating at exhibitions, conferences and other forum.
    The candidate must have an online teaching experience at the university level.
    Experience in curriculum development and academic programs accreditation.​
    Experience in teaching courses related to any of the public health disciplines, including Biostatistics / Epidemiology / Health Management / Health Promotion / Health Informatics / Health Economics and Finance / Quality of Care​.
    Evidence of active contributions to the field through publishing in internationally recognized and peer-reviewed journals and participating in conferences, seminars, and other forums.
    A record of administrative and leadership experience in academic institutions.
