The University of Kentucky, College of Health Sciences, Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition is seeking a full-time (12-months) non-tenure eligible, Research Title faculty member at rank determined by qualifications, to begin employment on July 1, 2025.
The College of Health Sciences, Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition is seeking a motivated individual who can contribute to an ongoing research agenda associated with funded clinical trials investigating the consequences of musculoskeletal injuries. This effort includes a strong research agenda that incorporates a multidisciplinary approach dedicated to injury prevention, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and the connections between sensorimotor and neurocognitive deficiencies. The primary obligations of this position are to Department of Defense funded clinical research including study coordination, data collection, development of new projects, and student mentorship in the Sports Medicine Research Institute.
The person in this position must have a Ph.D. in sports medicine, rehabilitation, or a closely related field. Additionally, this person should have experience with research coordination, familiarity with Department of Defense funded research, and expertise in data capture associated with inertial measurement unit-based motion capture systems, instrumented reaction time systems, and MRI techniques specific to cortical function associated with musculoskeletal disorders. This person will be expected to assist in fulfilling the research objectives of the Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition, to collaborate with other departmental and college faculty, and to provide mentorship to other research personnel including students, graduate student researchers, postdocs, and staff of the Sports Medicine Research Institute. This position will be a 12-month appointment with option to renew contingent upon review and available grant funding. The anticipated effort for this position is 95% Research/Scholarship and 5% Service.
