    The College of Nursing at the University of Illinois Chicago is one of the premier nursing schools in the nation, with four degree programs ranked in the top 15 by U.S. News & World Report and a research enterprise ranked No. 9 for NIH funding among U.S. nursing schools. Our mission is to transform health, healthcare and policy through knowledge generation and translation, and also through education of future nurse leaders from diverse backgrounds.     Duties & Responsibilities:



    • Faculty are expected to develop and maintain an independent research program. Significant achievements include obtaining competitive extramural funding and publishing results in high-impact scientific journals. Faculty may work together in collaborative research teams. In nursing, research productivity is expected to influence practice innovations and advance the multidisciplinary nature of healthcare. Faculty are also expected to mentor students into research roles that result in joint publications and presentations.

    • Tenure-track faculty also coordinate and teach undergraduate or graduate courses. UIC Nursing courses may occur in a traditional classroom, laboratory, or seminar; class meetings may be in-person, online, or hybrid. Faculty are also responsible for student advising and mentoring, including supervising students’ research.

    • Tenure-track faculty participate in the service missions of the university and professional organizations, which may occur in local, national, or international settings.

    Qualifications:


     


    Minimum Qualifications:



    • PhD (or comparable research-focused degree) in nursing or a health-related science.

    • Refereed and data-based publications with prior or current external or internal research funding.


     


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Post-doctoral research training is preferred.
